SUMMARY:Everything You Need to Know About Autocross\, DE\, and Track Events - Cozy Cafe Johnston
DESCRIPTION:Have you been thinking it’s time to get more out of your car and the Porsche experience? Join us on Saturday\, April 13 at Cozy Cafe in Johnston immediately following Cars and Coffee for a great new Tech Session from our very own Bob Eddy and other experienced competitors on Everything You Need to Know About Autocross\, DE\, and Track Events! \nThis seminar will have several page hand-outs\, two large poster board diagrams for explanations and referencing while in discussions. It will cover three main areas of competition to include details of the different types of driving the competition courses. At the conclusion of each area two Schonesland members will give their perspective on what to expect\, why it can be fun to participate\, and respond to questions and comments. \nA) Autocrossing or Solo Events: Typically held in a large parking lot with a course designed and laid out using rubber pylons. Each car navigates through the course driving against a timed run from start to finish\, one car at a time. We will cover the complete description of how the event works\, what you should expect to get from this experience and what the cost would be to enter. \nB) On Track Experience Events: Run on a fully-enclosed race track. This event covers the full experience of driving correctly on a track and includes in-car instruction. This type of event will also include other cars on track with you at the same time. We will cover the full operation of driving and what you should expect to get out of the on track experience and what the cost would be to enter. \nC) On Track Time Trial Events: These come at a greater experience level\, driving at a faster and more aggressive pace on a closed race track\, in competition against yourself to drive even faster to beat your previous lap times.
