Join us at the new Porsche dealership in West Des Moines on Saturday\, June 14 at 11:00 am following Cars and Coffee for a great 2-hour Tech Session from experienced competitors on Everything You Need to Know About Autocross\, DE\, and Track Events! \nThis seminar will cover three main areas of competition including what to expect\, why it can be fun to participate\, and answers to your questions and comments. \nA) Autocrossing or Solo Events: Typically held in a large parking lot with a course designed and laid out using rubber pylons. Each car navigates through the course driving against a timed run from start to finish\, one car at a time. We will cover the complete description of how the event works\, what you should expect to get from this experience and what the cost would be to enter. \nB) On Track Experience Events: Run on a fully-enclosed race track. This event covers the full experience of driving correctly on a track and includes in-car instruction. This type of event will also include other cars on track with you at the same time. We will cover the full operation of driving and what you should expect to get out of the on track experience and what the cost would be to enter. \nC) On Track Time Trial Events: These come at a greater experience level\, driving at a faster and more aggressive pace on a closed race track\, in competition against yourself to drive even faster to beat your previous lap times.

SUMMARY:Track Experience Day at Mid-America Motorplex
DESCRIPTION:All Schonesland Region members have been invited to join our friends in the PCA Great Plains Region for a one-day-only “Track Experience” event on Saturday\, August 26th! The full-day event offers you the opportunity to let your Porsches loose at the Raceway Park of the Midlands (RPM – formerly known as the Mid-America Motorplex or MAM)\, located 15 miles south of the I-80 / I-29 interchange in Council Bluffs. Just a quick two-hour drive from Des Moines\, the 40-foot-wide\, 2 ¼-mile-long track includes 15 turns\, one long straight\, two shorter straights\, and three shorter shoots beside the turns. \nSponsored by the PCA Great Plains Region\, the event is fully sanctioned by PCA as a “Driver Education Track Experience” and is open to any current Porsche Club of America member.The event is open to any Porsche coupe or targa; cabriolet models must be 2005 or newer. There will be three track groupings (novice beginner\, intermediate\, advanced) comprised of Porsches only. A total of six (and the possibility of up to eight) 20-minute sessions of on-track driving will be held\, with three in the morning with an instructor in the car with you and possibly four in the afternoon. Additionally\, two classroom sessions (30 to 40 minutes each) are required for beginners to attend and learn about “on track driving”. All instruction\, both in classroom and on track\, will come from a PCA certified driver instructor.Each new entrant will be assigned an instructor and will include a ride along in your car plus outside observations. Driver’s meeting will be at 8:30am on Saturday. \nCost for registration is $165.00 and covers track rental\, emergency services\, instruction\, and insurance.
