On Saturday\, May 2\, 2026\, the Schonesland Club is taking over the hills once again for our premier spring driving event. \nForget the flat straightaways; this route is a driver’s dream. We’ll be carving through dramatic\, wind-swept ridgelines\, plunging into sweeping valleys\, and tackling technical sections that will let your Porsche do exactly what it was built to do. The breathtaking\, panoramic views are just a bonus to the world-class tarmac. \nA Triumphant Return to the Riverfront After exploring different venues last year\, we are thrilled to announce that the 2026 drive will return to our favorite stomping grounds: the fantastic South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront. \nDerby Day & Dinner at Kahill’s The timing this year couldn’t be better. After an exhilarating drive\, we’ll arrive at the Marriott with plenty of time to park\, freshen up\, and gather to watch the Kentucky Derby that afternoon. Once the “Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports” wraps up\, we’ll transition to a spectacular group dinner at the ever-popular Kahill’s\, serving up incredible food right on the water. You will be asked to make your dinner entree (and dessert if applicable) selection at the time of registration. Small additional amount will be added to each indicated price for family style side dishes – individual checks will be presented by the restaurant staff for payment.  \nThe Sunday Encore Not quite ready for the weekend to end? SUMMARY:Schonesland 2026 Jason Smith Collection Drive
DESCRIPTION:This is a one-day drive that will take us from Altoona to Cedar Rapids to visit three exquisite car collections owned by Duane Smith and Jason Smith. All three collections have a wealth of legendary and high-performance cars including including a 959\, a Carrera GT\, and a 918. For those who attended our 50th Anniversary event in August 2025\, these same cars were on display for our concours. \nA handful of last details are still being finalized. What is known as of today: \nWe will be sharing this experience with the Central Iowa Region\, and a few members from the Central Iowa Region may even join us on the drive over. \nOur schedule upon arrival in Cedar Rapids is complete. Our estimated start time (to be confirmed the first week of April) will be around 7:00 am for insurance release form sign up and Driver’s meeting with a drive start time of 7:25 am. Because of the need to be at the first collection in Cedar Rapids relatively early\, this will be closer to a straight-line drive. \nThis event will take place rain or shine; refreshments will be served at Duane’s collection\, and a boxed lunch will be served at the Jetset Collection in the afternoon. The last remaining details for this drive should be finalized the week of March 31 and will be posted at that time.
