DESCRIPTION:The Schonesland Porsche Club Eureka Springs Arkansas Tour is open only to Schonesland Porsche Club Members. Please note that this drive is capped at 20 cars. This event takes place over the Labor Day Weekend. \nWe will be using the same roads as in 2024 except on Day 3; we will use the route from 2023 as the road construction of the great Highway 23 has been completed. As this event is being opened very early in the year\, the routes are subject to change due to any new construction this summer that has not yet been started. The roads in Arkansas are amazing; this is a driver’s drive and pretty much the best driving tour the club offers. \n  \nSchedule: \nWe formally start the drive from Joplin\, Missouri with a welcome dinner Thursday night at the Mythos Greek restaurant that we have enjoyed last several years. Most of us will drive together from Des Moines to Joplin on Thursday with a lunch stop at the Toot Toot restaurant in Bethany\, MO. If you are unable to join us in Joplin\, you can join the group in Eureka Springs for Saturday’s and Sunday’s drives\, but you would miss a fantastic day of driving on Friday from Joplin to Eureka Springs with a nice Lunch Stop at the Flat Creek Restaurant in Fair Hope\, MO. \n  \nDrives: \nFor those driving together to Joplin on Thursday\, we will meet at Hotel Renovo parking lot at 10:00 am with a planned departure at 10:15.  \nFriday – we drive from Joplin to Eureka Springs through southern Missouri and Arkansas with the aforementioned lunch stop In Fair Hope and a couple of pit stops. \nSaturday – we drive south from Eureka Springs to Oark for lunch at the Oark General Store returning to Eureka Springs through the Ozark Francis National Forest. \nSunday morning – drive from Eureka Springs via Ponca to Jasper for lunch at the Ozark Café continuing to Mt. Judea (on the incredible Hwy 123) and then returning to Eureka Springs via the North-Eastern route. \nMonday morning – driving home (optional and not PCA sanctioned) will include some good roads and minimal interstate use.  \nIf you choose to participate in just some parts of the drive\, please notify Skip or Ben to allow accurate planning for attendance at restaurants. Please note that registration here on Motorsportreg.com will not reserve your hotel rooms. You must call the hotels directly to make your reservations (information below). \n  \nHotels: \n8/28 (one night) – Fairfield Inn Joplin – this is a new hotel for us. Ask for the rooms for the “Porsche Club” \n3301 S Range Line Rd\, Joplin\, MO 64804 \nPhone 417-624-7800 Room rate $129 \n8/29 through 8/31 (Checking out 9/1) – three nights – Best Western Eureka Springs – ask for the rooms under Schonesland Porsche Club \n207 W Van Buren Highway 62 West\, Eureka Springs\, AR 72632  \nPhone 479-253-9768 Room Rate: $152 on Friday and Saturday\, $134 on Sunday \nWe have made arrangements and have reservations in multiple excellent restaurants in Eureka Springs. If you have not been to Eureka Springs or are not familiar with this unique town\, you can get a quick overview here: Eureka Springs – Something for Everyone \nRegistration for the Eureka Springs Arkansas Drive is now open. SUMMARY:Schonesland 2025 MA Hill Charity Drive
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, September 13\, 2025\, Schonesland will celebrate our former president\, MA Hill\, and the 70th Anniversary of PCA!! \nThe event this year will be a scavenger hunt around the Des Moines metro area! Each car will be given an instruction sheet with questions and stops. At each location you will take a picture of either your car or you. There will be bonus points available at some stops. At all the locations you get an extra point per Schonesland member that is posed in the picture that is not someone from your own car. There will also be points for least mileage driven and no points for the order you arrive at the destination. In other words\, it isn’t a race! Instead\, it is strategic! This drive is meant to be fun and spend some time outside of your car to get to know other members! Remember PCA’s motto\, “It’s Not Just the Cars\, It’s the People.” \nWe will have a driver’s meeting at 9AM after Cars & Coffee. Then starts the strategic planning for your route! There will not be a Ride with GPS route\, but each car will need to determine their own shortest route. The prize is a $70 gift certificate to the PCA Webstore where you can purchase PCA\, 70th Anniversary PCA\, or Schonesland merchandise. If there is a tie\, be prepared to have some PCA knowledge! \nOnly one registration ($20) is needed per car! All monies raised will be donated to MA Hill’s favorite charity\, Big Sisters. If unable to attend or want to donate more please use Venmo\, SchoneslandPorscheClub\, and note MA Hill Charity Drive Donation on the transaction. \nRegistration closes on Friday\, September 12th at Midnight – click the MSR image above to sign up!

If you are unable to start the tour on Thursday mid-morning\, you can join the group on Thursday night in Prairie du Chien or in Onalaska on Friday night\, but you would miss some truly phenomenal roads and a wonderful time with your fellow Schoneslanders. \nThe PCA event formally starts Thursday at 9:30 am from the Ankeny Casey’s at 2601 SE Creekview Dr\, with a great lunch stop in Grundy Center at the Landmark Bistro followed by an afternoon break at Pedretti’s Bakery in Elkader. We will then continue the drive to Prairie du Chien followed with dinner at the wonderful Angie’s Black Angus restaurant where we have enjoyed great food and service for the many past years during the Wisconsin Fall drive. We will stay on Thursday night 10/2 at the River District hotel where we have a block of rooms at a rate of $149.99. Please make your reservation by calling the hotel at 608-326-7878 and ask for the rooms under the Schonesland Porsche Club room block.  \nOn Friday morning we will take the roads towards La Crosse. We will have lunch in Camp Douglas at the Almost Home Bar and Grill as before and then continue to Onalaska for our two-night stay (Friday 10/3 and Saturday 10/4)  at the Hampton Inn. King Bedrooms are $159 and ones with two Queen Beds are $169. Please make your reservation by calling the hotel at 608-779-5000 or better yet using this direct link to our room block. On Saturday we have planned a great drive following the Mississippi River on the Minnesota side to Winona before crossing over to Wisconsin. Friday and Saturday nights we will have dinner in two groups at Ciatti’s Italian Grill and at Manny’s Cocina swapping locations the second night. SUMMARY:Schonesland 2026 Jason Smith Collection Drive
DESCRIPTION:This is a one-day drive that will take us from Altoona to Cedar Rapids to visit three exquisite car collections owned by Duane Smith and Jason Smith. All three collections have a wealth of legendary and high-performance cars including including a 959\, a Carrera GT\, and a 918. For those who attended our 50th Anniversary event in August 2025\, these same cars were on display for our concours. \nA handful of last details are still being finalized. What is known as of today: \nWe will be sharing this experience with the Central Iowa Region\, and a few members from the Central Iowa Region may even join us on the drive over. \nOur schedule upon arrival in Cedar Rapids is complete. Our estimated start time (to be confirmed the first week of April) will be around 7:00 am for insurance release form sign up and Driver’s meeting with a drive start time of 7:25 am. Because of the need to be at the first collection in Cedar Rapids relatively early\, this will be closer to a straight-line drive. \nThis event will take place rain or shine; refreshments will be served at Duane’s collection\, and a boxed lunch will be served at the Jetset Collection in the afternoon. The last remaining details for this drive should be finalized the week of March 31 and will be posted at that time. To register\, click the MSR image at the top of this page! \nThis should be a fun Saturday! \nGarry Seemann Quick_981@yahoo.com          \nEvent requirements\n\nThis event is classified as a “driving tour” and will be conducted in accordance with the Porsche Club of America’s Driving Tour Standards. SUMMARY:Schonesland 2026 Winona Driftless Tour
DESCRIPTION:This event is open only to the Schonesland Porsche Cub members. There is a maximum of twenty cars for this Tour. \nThe Driftless Region is a unique geological area spanning parts of Iowa\, Minnesota\, and Wisconsin\, distinguished by its rugged terrain\, deep river valleys\, and breathtaking scenic byways\, custom made for Porsches. Unlike the surrounding Midwest\, which was flattened by glaciers during the last Ice Age\, this region remained untouched\, preserving its ancient limestone bluffs\, winding streams\, and karst topography. The Mississippi River cuts through the heart of the Driftless Area\, adding to its scenic beauty and ecological diversity. \nWe will begin on Thursday morning at 8 AM with a brief drivers’ meeting at the Casey’s located just off Oralabor Rd at 2601 SE Creekview Dr\, Ankeny. Our morning route will take us to lunch for a return visit at Gus and Tony’s in West Union\, IA.  After lunch\, the roads to Winona get much more interesting\, sweeping us into our home for three nights at the Plaza Hotel & Suites\, 1025 HW61 East. To reserve your room you may call the hotel at 507-453-0303. Special rates and rooms will be available till 30 days prior to the event and after that date based on availble space only. Please book your rooms now to guarantee discounted rates. \nYou must give them our block code B544794. Are room rates are:  \nKing: Thurs night – $145 plus tax\, Fri & Sat night = $165 plus tax \nQueen/Queen: Thurs night = $155 plus tax\, Fri & Sat night = $175 plus tax \nThursday night’s dinner will be at Muddled Thyme in downtown Winona. https://www.muddledthyme.com/ \nFriday’s sensational tour will take us on a 220-mile drive all over SE Minnesota’s Driftless Region.  Lunch will be at O’Neill’s Pizza & Pub in Elgin\, MN. After returning to our hotel\, we’ll all meet for dinner just a couple miles down on County Road 17 at Signatures\, located at the Bridges Golf Club. http://signatureswinona.com.  \nSaturday is all about discovering the Driftless Region’s scenic higways in Southwestern Wisconsin.  Leaving Winona\, we’ll jump across the mighty Mississippi for a 190-mile romp on great roads. Dinner that evening will be back in downtown Winona at the NOSH. https://noshscratchkitchen.com/ This farm-to-table restaurant\, owned by local legend and Chef Greg Jaworski\, will host us in a private room to make for a memorable dining experience. The cost of the dinner at $67 per person must be paid at the time of the registration. \nSunday morning marks the end of the organized tour\, leaving everyone to return home on any route that their time will allow.  A highly recommended morning stop would be to the Whelan Pie Shop in Whelan\, MN.  Just 30-40 minutes down the road from Winona\, get a freshly-baked slice of pie and some ice cream before you trek on home.  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\nThis event is classified as a “driving tour” and will be conducted in accordance with the Porsche Club of America’s Driving Tour Standards. SUMMARY:Schonesland 2026 Great Mountains of Colorado Tour
DESCRIPTION:Note: Minor details are subject to change and hotel arrangement info is coming soon. \nPLESE NOTE: There are two groups driving one day apart. The Saturday departure group is sold out but there are a few spaces left \nin the secong group departing on Sunday. Please register at your earlest convenience if you are planning to attend to assure a spot! \nQuick Stats: \n6 Official Days (+ 1 or 2 days home from Manitou Springs with recommended return route)  \n2\,419 miles round trip \n8 scenic byways encountered \n17 named mountain passes conquered \nOvernight Locations – Hotel booking information will be sent directly to registrants: \n-Ogallala\, NE \n-Estes Park\, CO \n-Vail\, CO \n-Palisade\, CO \n-Durango\, CO \n-Manitou Springs\, CO \nHighlights: \n-Poudre Canyon \n-Big Thompson Canyon \n-Rocky Mountain National Park and Trail Ridge Road \n-Independence Pass \n-Unaweep Canyon \n-Million Dollar Highway \n-San Luis Valley \n-Pikes Peak (unofficial\, on your own) \n-delicious food\, beautiful roads\, and wonderful people! \nLogistics Notes: \n-Driven by a desire to more widely share these great experiences\, the attendance cap is nearly double (20 cars) for 2026’s EPIC tour! Growing demand for these drives\, like the 2024 Great Western Skies Tour and the 2025 Lake Superior Circle Tour\, led us to have two groups – one leaving on Saturday and the second one on Sunday following the first group one day behind. Back-to-back groups help simplify logistics planning for the trail boss\, the restaurants\, and the hotels on this fantastic multiday event. \n-Timed Entry at Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) will be active at the time of our trip. The plan is to depart our Estes Park hotel in time to enter RMNP before Timed Entry is required (typically 9AM-4PM daily). If this doesn’t work out\, an alternative route for that part of the day is under development. \n-The trip officially ends after dinner in Colorado Springs with the overnight stay in Manitou Springs. The intent is to open up options for tour attendees like Pikes Peak (note possible Timed Entry requirements)\, Cave of the Winds\, Garden of the Gods\, family and friend visits\, countless museums\, or choose between powering home in one day or two. It’s approximately 700 miles from Colorado Springs to Des Moines (this is included in the 2\,419 mile figure for the trip). \nPlease contact Eric Nelson with any questions you may have at nelsone2@gmail.com or by calling or texting (preferred) at 641-745-7200. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\nThis event is classified as a “driving tour” and will be conducted in accordance with the Porsche Club of America’s Driving Tour Standards.
