SUMMARY:Everything You Need to Know About Autocross\, DE\, and Track Events - Cozy Cafe Johnston
DESCRIPTION:Have you been thinking it’s time to get more out of your car and the Porsche experience? Join us on Saturday\, April 13 at Cozy Cafe in Johnston immediately following Cars and Coffee for a great new Tech Session from our very own Bob Eddy and other experienced competitors on Everything You Need to Know About Autocross\, DE\, and Track Events! \nThis seminar will have several page hand-outs\, two large poster board diagrams for explanations and referencing while in discussions. It will cover three main areas of competition to include details of the different types of driving the competition courses. At the conclusion of each area two Schonesland members will give their perspective on what to expect\, why it can be fun to participate\, and respond to questions and comments. \nA) Autocrossing or Solo Events: Typically held in a large parking lot with a course designed and laid out using rubber pylons. Each car navigates through the course driving against a timed run from start to finish\, one car at a time. We will cover the complete description of how the event works\, what you should expect to get from this experience and what the cost would be to enter. \nB) On Track Experience Events: Run on a fully-enclosed race track. This event covers the full experience of driving correctly on a track and includes in-car instruction. This type of event will also include other cars on track with you at the same time. We will cover the full operation of driving and what you should expect to get out of the on track experience and what the cost would be to enter. \nC) On Track Time Trial Events: These come at a greater experience level\, driving at a faster and more aggressive pace on a closed race track\, in competition against yourself to drive even faster to beat your previous lap times.

SUMMARY:Mad Warren Driving Tour 2024
DESCRIPTION:Please join us on Saturday\, April 20 for our single-day Mad Warren Driving Tour! The MadWarren drive will kick off Schonesland’s 2024 driving season. We will meet at Hotel Renovo (arrive around 7:30\, drive instructions are at 8:00\,  first group departs at 8:30) in Urbandale and go over the route\, safety instructions\, and sign the requisite waivers. \nBe sure to download the RidewithGPS app at least a day before. Further instructions on downloading and using the app for the route will be provided. Spoiler alert!!!!!  For the drive itself we will be driving the route in the opposite direction as last year. \nAt the end of the drive\, lunch will be at Pyra Pizza in Norwalk (around 11:45). SUMMARY:Loess Hills Driving Tour 2024
DESCRIPTION:Registration ends at April 22\, 2024 11:59 PM CDT \n\nSaturday and Sunday\, April 27th & 28th should be on your calendars for the 2024 Loess Hills Run to Sioux City. Leaving from Hy-Vee Fast and Fresh\, 1025 E Hickman Rd\, Waukee\, IA 50263 on Saturday morning (arrive at 7:30 am)\, we’ll drive west on scenic Highway 44 to the Loess Hills in western Iowa. After a stop for lunch\, we’ll hustle up the Byway’s thrilling twists and turns thru the hills and valleys to arrive at the Marriott Riverfront Hotel in South Sioux City\, NE in time to check into our rooms and gather in the bar for a little refreshment and tales from the trail.  Then\, we’ll move to the Highlands Room at Kahill’s Chop House for a private evening of great food\, beverage and fellowship; cocktails at 6:00\, dinner at 7:00. \nSunday morning offers a return to Central Iowa by taking either the express route (Interstates 29 and 80) or the scenic route by going back down the Byway when it’s virtually deserted.  The Loess Hills Scenic Byway is on the United States Registry of Scenic Byways and one of our most popular drives of the season\, enjoyed by Schoneslanders since 2009. These roads are MADE for Porsches! \nA block of 30 rooms with special group rates of $140 or $150/night\, depending on view\, has been reserved under “Schonesland Region Porsche Club” with a mixture of king and double queen rooms on the river side and the parking lot side.
