This event is exclusive to Schonesland Porsche Club members and strictly limited to 15 cars\, so this is one to sign up for early. Want to preview the route first? The driver’s meeting will be at 8:00 AM\, with the group rolling out together at 8:30. Along the way\, we’ll stop for a casual lunch at Leo’s Marina Bay Restaurant\, right on the shores of Lake Thunderhead. \nFrom there\, we continue toward Columbia on some genuinely exceptional Southern Missouri roads\, arriving at the Stoney Creek Hotel — where the club has a group room block at $119 per night. Dinner that evening is at Sophia’s\, in a private room reserved just for us. The food and beverages come Skip-and-Dave tested\, and the company will be the usual excellent crowd of Schoneslanders. \nSunday — The Drive Home \nWe depart the hotel at 8:30 AM\, heading back toward Des Moines with a lunch stop at Coltons’ Steakhouse in Kirksville\, MO — a menu large enough to satisfy just about every palate. And as always\, expect an extra pitstop before and after lunch on both days. \nWorth Knowing \nWarm Springs Ranch \nWarm Springs Ranch — home of the Budweiser Clydesdales — sits about 20 miles outside Columbia\, just off our return route. Logistics didn’t allow us to arrange a group tour\, but the ranch does offer individual guided tours (mandatory for entry) on Sunday mornings. If you’d like to visit\, you’re welcome to peel off from the group at that point and use Ride with GPS to navigate home afterward. \n  \nQuestions are always welcome — just reach out. SUMMARY:Schonesland 2026 MA Hill Charity Drive

You may register for one or both of them. \nMA HILL CHARITY DRIVE \nLast year everyone seemed to enjoy the scavenger hunt format for the MA Hill Charity Drive.  This year it will be a photo rally.  It should be a fun\, new format for us! \nYou may be wondering what a photo rally is and how does it work.  At 9AM there will be a driver’s meeting at Kwik Star in Ankeny (6155 SE Delaware Ave – just south of Sam’s Club).  After the driver’s meeting a car will be released every 2 minutes.  This will space cars out so you will not be leading and following each other.  When you are released\, you will be handed written route instructions\, a page of photos\, and an answer sheet.  You will need to follow the written route and put in order the pictures you have been given as you see them along the route.  The winner will be the car that has the pictures in the correct order.  There will be no bonus points for the time it takes you so no need to race.  There will be a tie breaker of PCA themed questions if multiple cars get the order correct.  Prizes will be given for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place. \nYou will need a navigator / co-pilot to help with the written route instructions and be an extra set of eyes to find the items and record the order.  Doing this solo will be nearly impossible since you will have to read instructions\, find items from the pictures\, and write down the answers.  You can have multiple people in the car so feel free to bring kids or friends! \nPart of the game is having to follow instructions so no Ride with GPS for this drive.  We are going old school!!  (This will make you really appreciate Ride with GPS on our other drives!) \nThe route should take you around 2 hours and you are free to stop along the way for any break you may need.  This is a good introduction drive for any new members since you can do it at your own pace and stop whenever you need to.  You can have your normal co-pilot drive if you want.  Since this is not a lead and follow drive there is no pressure to keep up with the group. \nWe will be ending at Kelley Parkin’s house in Runnells for the New Member Welcome Picnic.   \nThe monies raised will be donated to Big Sisters of Iowa.  This was MA Hill’s favorite charity.  MA Hill was the first female president of Schonesland and was a fantastic spirit.  She was loved by all and is greatly missed!  Cost will be $25 per car.  If you would like to donate more or cannot attend the drive please use our Venmo (@SchoneslandPorscheClub – note that it is for the charity drive) or you can hand me or Phil Patterson cash or check.  \n  \nTo register for the MA Hill Charity Drive\, the New Member Welcome Picnic\, or both events\, click the MSR image at the top of this page!
