SUMMARY:Schonesland 2026 Dams and Tracks Driving Tour
DESCRIPTION:  \nA brand new 2026 drive presented by Bob Eddy excusively for Schonesland Porsche Club Members \nDams and Tracks is an all-new\, full-day driving tour through the scenic roads of south-central Iowa. \nThis unique route will take us across three of Iowa’s most impressive dams – Saylorville Dam\, Red Rock Dam\, and Lake Rathbun Dam – while also showcasing several of the state’s most notable motorsports landmarks. Along the way\, we will drive past Iowa Speedway in Newton\, the historic Greenwood Roadway\, which operated from 1963 to 1966 and hosted several prominent racing events\, and finish with a visit to Knoxville Raceway\, proudly known as the Sprint Car Capital of the World. \nWe are also currently working to secure permission for our group to take a ceremonial lap around the Iowa Speedway oval. While this has not yet been confirmed\, we’re optimistic and hopeful we can make it happen. Keep your fingers crossed! \n  \nEvent Details \nWe will meet at 8:00 a.m. in the parking lot next to the Cozy Café in Johnston for the drivers’ meeting. Please arrive with a full tank of fuel. \nThe first driving group will depart promptly at 8:30 a.m. If registration requires a second group\, it will leave approximately 20 minutes later. \nOur lunch stop will be at The Rib Shack in Knoxville. We have planned one rest stop before lunch and another after lunch to ensure everyone has an opportunity to refuel\, stretch\, and enjoy the drive. \nThe official drive will conclude in Bevington\, Iowa\, just off Interstate 35\, providing an easy route home for everyone. \nIf you have any questions before the event\, please don’t hesitate to contact me at bandjeddy@earthlink.net. \nI look forward to sharing a fantastic day of driving with all of you! \n  \nEvent Requirements \n\nThis event is classified as a “driving tour” and will be conducted in accordance with the Porsche Club of America’s Driving Tour Standards. We will be using Ride with GPS phone app for navigation. If you have not downloaded the app on your phone\, please follow this link to do so and review the guides we have developed for the users. To register\, click the MSR image at the top of this page! \nhttps://schonesland.com/driving-tour-app/ \nIf you have any questions\, please contact Skip Hammerman at 515-419-8734 or Ben Nordman at 612-910-1699.

SUMMARY:Schonesland 2025 MA Hill Charity Drive
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, September 13\, 2025\, Schonesland will celebrate our former president\, MA Hill\, and the 70th Anniversary of PCA!! \nThe event this year will be a scavenger hunt around the Des Moines metro area! Each car will be given an instruction sheet with questions and stops. At each location you will take a picture of either your car or you. There will be bonus points available at some stops. At all the locations you get an extra point per Schonesland member that is posed in the picture that is not someone from your own car. There will also be points for least mileage driven and no points for the order you arrive at the destination. In other words\, it isn’t a race! Instead\, it is strategic! This drive is meant to be fun and spend some time outside of your car to get to know other members! Remember PCA’s motto\, “It’s Not Just the Cars\, It’s the People.” \nWe will have a driver’s meeting at 9AM after Cars & Coffee. Then starts the strategic planning for your route! There will not be a Ride with GPS route\, but each car will need to determine their own shortest route. The prize is a $70 gift certificate to the PCA Webstore where you can purchase PCA\, 70th Anniversary PCA\, or Schonesland merchandise. If there is a tie\, be prepared to have some PCA knowledge! \nOnly one registration ($20) is needed per car! All monies raised will be donated to MA Hill’s favorite charity\, Big Sisters. If unable to attend or want to donate more please use Venmo\, SchoneslandPorscheClub\, and note MA Hill Charity Drive Donation on the transaction. \nRegistration closes on Friday\, September 12th at Midnight – click the MSR image above to sign up!

SUMMARY:Schonesland 2024 MA Hill Charity Drive
DESCRIPTION:About this event\n\nRegistration is now open here at MotorsportReg! \nThis is the annual MA Hill Charity Drive! We are honoring MA Hill and everything she did for our club. She was the first female president of Schonesland PCA. Everyone knew Mary Alice! She was always there with a smile\, laugh\, or ear to listen! \nThe format will be a poker run so you can go at your own pace. \nWe’ll depart from the AMC movie theater near our Cars & Coffee location in Johnston. We’ll do a driver’s meeting at 9:00AM to be on the road by 9:30AM. We’ll conclude the run (and see who got the best hand) at lunch at Smokey D’s BBQ. \nCost per hand played is $20. All monies raised will be donated to Big Sisters which was MA’s favorite charity. \nIf you would like to add to the club’s donation to Big Sisters\, but are not able to participate or do not want to purchase additional hands\, our Venmo is @SchoneslandPorscheClub (or search Schonesland under Business on Venmo) and be sure to put MA Hill in the comments so we know that money is to be donated. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\nPrice per hand played is $20. Play as many hands as you like. You can mix and match all of your cards to get a better hand!
