When registering\, sign up for Saturday April 18th or for Sunday\, April 19th. Please note that Saturday is currently full (if you choose this\, you will be placed on a waiting list). Sunday still has room to register. \nThis event is open only to the Schonesland Porsche Cub members. Registration limited to a maximum of 40 cars (20 on each day).  \nWe will be driving to Madison County continuing to Warren County. Join us at the Hotel Renovo at 7:30 with a full tank of gas either on Saturday or on Sunday according to your registration day. We will have our driver’s meeting at 8 with the first group departing at 8:30 followed by the second group of the day 20 minutes later. \nOur new lunch restaurant will be the Fairway Frank’s Bar and Grill which is in the same location as our old favorite Pyra Pizzeria used to be with the first group arriving around 11:30 and the second one approximately 20 minutes later. The formal party of the event ends at lunch so after it you can enjoy the rest of the day as you have planned. Machine Shed has also been made aware of our presence the morning of this event\, so feel free to stop over and grab breakfast there before our drive (they open at 7 that morning). \nIf you have any questions or concerns\, please reach out to Dustin Pettiecord at 515-808-0770. DESCRIPTION:If you’ve ever wanted to see—up close—how classic Porsches are restored or tastefully modified from the ground up\, this is that opportunity.  We’re teaming up with our friends from the Great Plains PCA for a special behind-the-scenes experience you won’t want to miss. \nTerry Worick has been building and restoring cars for over 30 years\, opening his shop in 1990.  Over the years\, he’s completed numerous projects for Great Plains and Kansas City PCA members. DESCRIPTION:This is a one-day drive that will take us from Altoona to Cedar Rapids to visit three exquisite car collections owned by Duane Smith and Jason Smith. All three collections have a wealth of legendary and high-performance cars including including a 959\, a Carrera GT\, and a 918. For those who attended our 50th Anniversary event in August 2025\, these same cars were on display for our concours. \nA handful of last details are still being finalized. What is known as of today: \nWe will be sharing this experience with the Central Iowa Region\, and a few members from the Central Iowa Region may even join us on the drive over. \nOur schedule upon arrival in Cedar Rapids is complete. Our estimated start time (to be confirmed the first week of April) will be around 7:00 am for insurance release form sign up and Driver’s meeting with a drive start time of 7:25 am. There is a maximum of twenty cars for this Tour. \nThe Driftless Region is a unique geological area spanning parts of Iowa\, Minnesota\, and Wisconsin\, distinguished by its rugged terrain\, deep river valleys\, and breathtaking scenic byways\, custom made for Porsches. Unlike the surrounding Midwest\, which was flattened by glaciers during the last Ice Age\, this region remained untouched\, preserving its ancient limestone bluffs\, winding streams\, and karst topography. The Mississippi River cuts through the heart of the Driftless Area\, adding to its scenic beauty and ecological diversity. \nWe will begin on Thursday morning at 8 AM with a brief drivers’ meeting at the Casey’s located just off Oralabor Rd at 2601 SE Creekview Dr\, Ankeny. Our morning route will take us to lunch for a return visit at Gus and Tony’s in West Union\, IA.  After lunch\, the roads to Winona get much more interesting\, sweeping us into our home for three nights at the Plaza Hotel & Suites\, 1025 HW61 East. DESCRIPTION:The Porsche Parade is an annual event hosted by the Porsche Club of America (PCA). The 70th Porsche Parade will be held in Lake Placid\, NY\, from Sunday\, June 14\, through Saturday\, June 20\, 2026. \nThe parade is a week-long event that includes four competitive events and other activities. Events include Concours\, TSD Rally\, Autocross\, and the Technical Quiz. Other activities include banquets\, tours\, Tech Tactics sessions\, a golf tournament\, a 5K Run/Walk\, and an art show. \nPCA launched a new Parade Registration System in 2025\, which was an astounding success! This system was built specifically for PCA and Porsche Parade and allows for a more seamless registration process. We created the 2025 VIDEO GUIDE on registering using the new system\, which is a good resource for those who did not have a chance to use it in 2025. SUMMARY:Schonesland 2026 Dragoon Trail Drive
DESCRIPTION:June 20st is the Annual Schonesland Club Dragoon Trail drive.This event is open only to the Schonesland Porsche Cub members. \nThe Dragoon Trail follows the path of the 1st U.S. Dragoons\, cavalry soldiers who scouted Iowa in 1835 after the Black Hawk Purchase put the area under U.S. government control. The trail itself roughly tracks along the course of the Des Moines River from Fort Dodge through Des Moines to Knoxville and Lake Red Rock.  \nOur drive: We will depart following Cars & Coffee at Cozy Cafe\, drive to Fort Dodge where we will be having lunch at Mineral City Mill and Grill in Fort Dodge. \nDriver’s meeting @ 9:15 with the first group scheduled for an 9:30 departure.The drive route will be posted on Ride With GPS\, and also paper copies will be available the day of the event. \nIf you have any questions about this ride please contact Dave Hill 515-657-2424 or via e-mail at dave.a.hill.jr@gmail.com \nHope to see you on the ride!! \n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent requirements\n\nThis event is classified as a “driving tour” and will be conducted in accordance with the Porsche Club of America’s Driving Tour Standards.
